GONZO CONSULTING, LLC is an engineering-first organization. Every engagement is led by a practicing engineer with direct hands-on responsibility for deliverable quality.
Gonzo Consult was founded on the principle that systems engineering is a discipline best practiced by engineers who remain hands-on with the work. We do not maintain a layer of non-technical management between our architects and our clients. The individual leading your engagement will be someone who has designed production systems, who can discuss architectural trade-offs with authority, and who bears direct responsibility for the quality of deliverables produced under their supervision.
Our headquarters is at 866 W 1150 S in Springville, Utah — a location chosen to attract engineering talent from the Wasatch Front technology corridor while maintaining the cost structure that allows us to price engagements competitively against coastal consultancies. From this base, we serve clients across all fifty states through secure remote delivery infrastructure augmented by on-site presence when project requirements demand it.
PR-001: Specification Before Implementation
Every system begins with a detailed specification. We do not write infrastructure code until the architecture document has been reviewed, challenged, and approved by both our team and the client stakeholders.
PR-002: Infrastructure as Code, Without Exception
Manual configuration creates unreproducible systems. Every resource we deploy is defined in version-controlled code with peer review requirements and automated validation in a CI pipeline.
PR-003: Security Is an Architecture Property
Security controls must be designed into the system fabric — network boundaries, identity models, encryption standards, audit logging. Security appliances alone cannot compensate for an insecure architecture.
PR-004: Observability Is Mandatory
A system that emits no telemetry cannot be reasoned about during incidents. Every architecture includes comprehensive observability design: structured logging, dimensional metrics, and distributed tracing with defined alerting thresholds.
PR-005: Trade-offs Must Be Documented
No architecture is optimal for all dimensions simultaneously. We produce a formal trade-off analysis for every significant design decision, recording alternatives considered and rationale for the chosen approach.
PR-006: Knowledge Transfer Is a Deliverable
Our engagement is successful only if your team can operate and extend the system independently. We pair with your engineers, document decisions, and ensure knowledge transfer is measured and verified.
